Per-Diem Veterinary Position in Queens, NY
Job Description
We are a small one doctor intimate veterinary clinic with 5-6 staff and friendly clients. Duties would be general office visits, wellness care, and some sick/ER cases. No surgeries are required. 6-8 hr shifts, preferably once every 1-2 weeks. Nice Queens neighborhood with plenty of parking, in-house labs, all computerized records, state of the art new digital x-ray system.
Responsibilities
- Examine animals and check their health status
- Diagnose illnesses and determine the best treatment
- Dress wounds of injured animals
- Perform dental, ophthalmic, and orthopedic
- Vaccinate animals to prevent diseases
- Prescribe medication
- Advise pet owners on nutrition, preventive healthcare, and general care
- Update client records
Skills
- Work experience as a Veterinarian, Veterinary Technician or Veterinarian Assistant
- Experience conducting various types of surgeries, vaccinations, and health checks on animals
- Knowledge of medical equipment (e.g. X-ray machines) and anesthesia procedures
- Problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain medical terms and conditions using simple language
- Availability to take evening or weekend shifts in cases of emergency
- Patience and a love for animals
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree
Job Type: Part-time
Schedule: 8 hour shift
Pay: $85.00 – $100.00 per hour
COVID-19 considerations:
1 client at a time indoors, masks for clients and staff, exam discussions in the waiting room, no clients in the exam room, plexiglass protectors, daily cleaning.

Job Description
We are looking for an eager, personable, reliable, self-motivated, multi-tasking, and hard-working individual. The ideal person for our practice is friendly, enthusiastic, energetic, and makes an excellent first impression with our growing client base.
Responsibilities include: answering phones, filling prescriptions, scheduling appointments, processing paperwork and reminders, assisting the technicians and doctors, invoicing clients, creating positive patient relations, and maintaining office cleanliness.
Our office is computerized, so basic computer skills are a must.
